Fontcase (van Bohemian Coding) is één van de (veel) betere font managers voor Mac. Daarbij ziet het er ook nog heel fijn uit. Fontcase heeft een aantal interessante features, volgens thenextweb.com:

• Detection of duplicates: Fontcase detects if a font is installed in multiple places on a machine, and allows the user to fix the problem;
• Automatic import: fonts installed in the system are now automatically imported in the program;
• Easy vault relocation: Fontcase stores all fonts in a specific place, called Font Vault; this version allows the users to relocate the vault wherever they want;
• Easy backup: the Font Vault can be easily exported and backed up incrementally;
• General optimizations: cache compression and other improvements allow the application to run faster while using less resources.

Behalve e-mailloze vrijdag en ‘zwarte vrijdag’ is het vandaag ook koopvrijdag in Apple Store wereld. Of alle producten op deze ad ook echt in de uitverkoop gaan, is nog onzeker. Ik hoop op een afgeprijsde Mac Pro!

PowerBook Medic, een bedrijf dat Apple-producten repareert, maakt sinds kort een uitstapje naar het ontwerpen van sieraden. Dat lees ik althans op nu.nl. Het technische team recyclet onderdelen van oude iPhones en Macs door er oorknopjes van te maken. En daar is vraag naar. Zoveel vraag zelfs, dat PowerBook niet meer genoeg heeft aan haar eigen voorraad en nieuwe knopjes bij Apple heeft besteld. Zodra de shop bijgevuld wordt, bestel ik mijn paar.
